Africa Union discusses the wave of coups during the 35th assembly.

According to the agenda, this year’s theme is ‘Building food sustainability on the African continent’, but a pile of files awaits the heads of state and government from 55 member countries.

On Saturday, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will review the continental strategy for dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak for the assembly’s 35th regular session.

Also on the agenda is the coup epidemic that has recently rocked West Africa.After the unconstitutional regime change in Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea and Sudan were expelled from institutions by the Peace and Security Council.

At the conference, Congolese President Felix Chisekedi presented the first award for pan-African literature to photographer and writer Oswalde Levat.
