The American R&B singer was bullied for expressing her love for Ghana.

Award-winning R&B singer Ari Lennox has been forced to  delete all her social media posts sharing her experience of Ghana, after some social media users criticised her over them.

Lennox, who received a Grammy-nomination in 2019 for Best R&B/Soul Female Artist,  was Ghana to perform at the Afrochella festival held on December 28, 2021.

She took the opportunity to tour parts of Accra, and shared her experience with her fans around the world.

The ‘Pressure’ singer wrote about Ghana “wow it’s a uncommon and right feeling to persistently wake up with peace and happiness. I definitely owe that to Ghana.”

In another post, Lennox talked about crying at some stage in her first go to to the seashore and aching for her ancestors. “I didn’t experience alone. It used to be a surreal experience.”

The singer brought that she felt it was once satisfactory to get away from depression and anxiety. However, these posts generated unexpected reactions from some Twitter users.

Some observed it corny that Lennox, like many of her colleagues in the diaspora who travelled earlier than her, sought a connection with her ancestors.
Other social media users outrightly laughed at her posts.
