New Edubiase FC set the internet ablaze with the announcement of signing Kwadwo Nkansah affectionately called Lil Wayne to professional football.
A professional footballers card issued by the Ghana Football Authority then pops up online adding more seriousness to Lil Wayne venturing into professional football claims.
In a radio interview monitored by this site, Lil Wayne said
Ghanaians doubted when I said I was going to do music and now they are doubting again when I said I will play professional football, this gives me much strength to do what I know I can do and do it well
In a Division One League home match against Unistars Academy on Tuesday 14th December, coach Anthony Kommey gave Lil Wayne his professional football debut.
Bringing him on for Richmond Acheampong in the 80th minute, one could hear the cheers and chants from the crowd.
Lil Wayne played the final 10 minutes plus additional 5 minutes. The game ended 2 nil in favour of New Edubiase United
